Location Details:
Olney Hall, College of Marin, Kentfield 94904. From Sir Francis Drake Boulevard, turn south on College Avenue. The main campus parking lot is on the right, opposite the post office. From there, Olney Hall is north on College Avenue at the main entrance to the campus.

Five leading election reform activists will present their approaches to improving elections in a public forum on Saturday, September 15, at 7:00pm at the College of Marin.

The forum is titled “Bring Democracy Home: Election Reforms That Empower Voters”. The issues discussed will include integrity of election administration; fair representation and instant runoff voting; ballot access; media coverage and access to debates; and campaign finance reform.

The panelists are:

  • Sherry Healy, Co-Founder of the California Election Protection Network
  • Steven Hill, Director of the Political Reform Program, New America Foundation, and author of Ten Steps to Repair American Democracy
  • Danny Medress, Field Organizer with the California Clean Money Campaign
  • Peter Phillips, Professor of Sociology at Sonoma State University and Director of Project Censored
  • Richard Winger, Editor of Ballot Access News

This panel will be moderated by Laura Wells, candidate for State Controller in 2006.

The event is sponsored by Marin Ranked Voting and Students for Social Responsibility, and endorsed by Californians for Electoral Reform, the New America Foundation, and Project Censored.
