Hear stories about a 60 year old grandmother who risks asphyxiation to travel across the border to visit her "illegal immigrant" farm worker son. Hear of the struggles women migrant farm workers face working and living in Santa Cruz and Monterey County and how neoliberal trade policies often force Mexican farm workers to migrate into California's corporate agricultural fields.
This 20 minute interview with Dr. Lopez will be aired September 5th for a Labor Day special on Women's Magazine 1-2pm, 94.1fm. A full one hour interview on NAFTA's impacts on Mexican farmworker communities will be aired on KZYX, in Mendocino County, 90.7fm and 91.5fm on Labor Day, Monday September 3rd from 6-7pm. http://www.kzyx.org
