Santa Cruz 911 Truth Members Attempt to Disrupt Anti-War Gathering at City Chambers
During a anti-war vigil held at Santa Cruz City Chambers on the evening of August 28, 2007 a number of sign-bearing individuals attempted to take over the event and turn it into a discussion of the "bombs placed in the World Trade Center". This appeared to be a deliberate attempt to disrupt the event and change the topic, which was about ending the occupation of Iraq and bringing US soldiers home.
In what appeared to be a deliberate attempt to disrupt and smear a peaceful anti-war protest at Santa Cruz City Chambers last night, a number of members of the '911 Truth Movement' appeared after the event had begun and attempted to switch the topic from ending the Iraq war to a discussion of 'controlled demolitions at the World Trade Center on 911'.
THe 911 Truth Movement is a well funded national campaign whose apparent aim is to discredit the anti-war movement by promoting ridiculous claims about robot controlled planes flying into the WTC, missles being fired at the Pentagon, and a 'faked plane crash' in Pennsylvania.
The members are secretive and refuse to state their real names or funding sources. They've promoted several films in the Santa Cruz area such as "Loose Change" and now "Terrorstorm" which are highly inaccurate and dishonest.

Please remember that there have been numerous attempts to infiltrate and disrupt antiwar gatherings by everyone from the University police to the Pentagon's TALON program which spied on hundreds of antiwar gatherings. See the ACLU spyfiles. The aim of these groups has been to infiltrate anti-war groups and prevent their message - end the Iraq war and bring the troops home - from being heard.
Let's explain the propaganda technique being used by this group: it's called transferance.
The last thing Republicans want the public to understand is that 9/11 was blowback - an effect of US intervention in the Middle East and Afghanistan over the past four decades (and longer) - and that Bush Sr. and many members of the current administration, such as Elliot Abrams, are directly responsible - OBL got his start in the US funded covert war in Afghanistan, and he got his money by blackmailing the Saudi Royals who are like family to GW Bush.
So, what Republicans did was to set up an astroturf group - the 9/11 Truth Movement - to create a ridiculous stuffed toy that politicians like Rudy Giuliani can bash at every opportunity. The 9/11 truth movement is like a burning rubber tire that can be hung around the neck of any person who raises the issues behind the war for oil in the Middle East.
Don't fall for their tactics!

There are plenty of other areas where the White House was clearly not telling the public the facts of what they knew, or not being forthcoming about the business side of the development of the intervention in south asia shortly afterwards.
So, does anyone know about this group which has been calling for a Strike in Santa Cruz in Sept. 11? Are they wingnutty and focusing on the steel qualities of the WTC buildings, or is this a regular anti-war group?

9/11 has not only been an excuse for instigating a foreign war, but an excuse for the vast expansion of domestic tyranny. General Tommy Franks said recently that martial law will replace the constitution in the event of a WMD attack. 9/11 truth is about learning the facts in order to prevent a repeat or worse. If we had all of the facts, then there would be no need to reopen the investigation. If you believe the official conspiracy theory, then that's fine. Perhaps you aren't aware that the official 9/11 commission investigation did not begin for over a year after 911. There was great resistance to forming the committee at all. Both the Kennedy assassination, and the Gulf of Tonkin incident were investigated within 2 weeks following these respective events. Are you aware that the 9/11 commission was led by Henry Kissinger? His track record is very poor. Henry Kissinger was the leader of Project Paperclip. Project Paperclip aided high-level Nazis in escaping Germany after WWII. Do your own research. Think for yourself.
It is disgusting to me that the President of the United States has been lying about or side stepping the questions or minimizing the the impact that 9/11 has had upon the American People. We the People (of this Nation) are paying for it all (this country is being thrown into debt), while a small sector of society are reaping record profits while engaging in an illicit war (Shame on the War Profiteers).
We are required to swallow the lies and deceit that pour out of the Main Stream Media every day...well, some of us simply can't swallow this BS. It is our PATRIOTIC DUTY to ask questions when information doesn't add up. Any individual who is frustrated by others who ask questions, needs to ask themselves why they are frustrated...and angry enough to slam those who take the time to think and inquire respectfully.
The 9/11 Truthers are the True Patriots of this Country. We need those important and pertinent questions answered NOW so that we may start spending our Tax Dollars on Domestic needs rather than Killing People in foreign countries for Corporate profit. Kudos to the Truth Movement...may you grow strong and find answers and hold the criminals accountable for their treachery.

Wow, talk about crazy conspiracy theories! This one is as crazy as the administration's fiction of 19 arab hijackers outsmarting the entire U.S. military/intelligence establishment! Observer, what drugs are you on? It's interesting the techniques you use, but they are standard phyops techniques: mix a little truth ("OBL got his start in the US funded covert war in Afghanistan") and then the ridiculous ("to create a ridiculous stuffed toy that politicians like Rudy Giuliani can bash at every opportunity"). That's right, Karl Rove is secretly financing and giving the talking points to the members of the 9/11 Truth movement. We have been soooo deceived! Our cover is blown! Damn you!

The families themselves ask what happened to Building 7. Nothing "wingnutty" about it. There is massive and redundant support for the demolition theory of the WTC, and it has nothing to do with hoaxes about the Pentagon. The real issue at the Pentagon is how it was ever hit by anything in the first place, and why.

And all you have to do is look at how the mainstream media attacks these brave patriots, as opposed to engaging in civil dialogue on the issue, for simply asking questions to know they must have something to hide. They use the old, "If you can't attack the messsge, attack the messenger", and unfortunately this tactic works on most brainwashed Americans.
