About Us
Spoke Bloc as an autonomous group arose out of the need for an anarchist cycling bloc for social enabling and not just cycling clubs with expensive mountain bikes.

Most people who will ride with Spoke Bloc will be those who primarily ride their bikes as the primary mode of transportation or maybe don’t even own a car. These days in the height of car culture that will be a rarity. Even people who despise cars will own one to get some place at one time or another.

Spoke Bloc wants to promote long distance traveling with bikes and not just leisurely riding.

This is not critical mass. Although many may partake in Critical Mass. We are not trying to aware anyone of our presence in the streets.

Spoke Bloc will announce at least two rides a month on the 2nd & 4th Sunday of the month in the Bay Area. It will also open up the calendar for others to announce their own rides. If you are posting a ride it must be announced at least two weeks in advance. We will start a list-serv and to get on it please email spokebloc [at] gmail.com
