Fruitvale BART: Protest Elvira Arrellano's deportation

Dozens of immigrant rights activists, organizers, and leaders will convene at noon today at the Fruitvale BART Plaza in Oakland to express their opposition to the deportation of Elvira Arellano, an immigrant mother who had taken refuge for over one year at Adalberto United Methodist Church in Chicago, Illinois to avoid deportation and separation from her 8-year old U.S. citizen son. Ongoing raids, detentions and deportations of undocumented immigrants across the country continue to separate families and terrorize immigrant communities.
