People Confront Flag Waving Fans of the Border Patrol
50+ people of various ages and origins gathered on three corners of the intersection of Bascom and Hamilton in Campbell, CA to confront and show disapproval and resistance to the flag waving fans of the Border Patrol.
The flag wavers included John Birth Society members, Minutemen supporters, and disgruntled, confused, possesive white Euro-Americans who, after benefiting from the theft of American land now don't want to share it with the dispossessed. Some claim to have the best of intent toward immigrants. One even called himself anti-racist but when pressed did not have a broad understanding of racism.
A prominent rallying point for the flag wavers is the case of the imprisoned Border Patrol agents Ramos and Compean.
