Mike Farrell is this week's guest on McChesney's Media Matters
This week's guest on Media Matters is expected to be Mike Farrell, a "life-long activist, focusing particularly on issues such as human rights and the death penalty, as well as animal rights and environmental issues." "Just Call Me Mike" is the title of his well-received autobiography.
Farrell is most known around the world for his contributions to making the television series M*A*S*H a phenomenal hit: as an actor (playing the role of Captain B.J. Hunnicutt), and as a writer and director of some of its episodes.
The weekly radio program Media Matters
features host Bob
McChesney in conversation with a variety of guests.
Bob McChesney is a research professor in the Institute of Communications Research and the Graduate School of Information and Library Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
“The media are central to all our lives,” he says. “Yet the media are the most frequently misunderstood parts of our lives. We want to help people understand the role of media in society.”
