Looks like Popular Mechanics is not going to post my comment
http://www.popularmechanics.com/blogs/911myths/4213805.html
I pointed out how it was that Popular Mechanics bowed out of a discussion that they couldn't win when they got cuaght in a completely absurd fabrication in a live interview. Anyone who listens to this would be a fool to rely on them as any sort of authority.
I suggested that people just listen to this interview:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WULRQCgvsdE
This is the magic sword to use any time anyone brings up Popular Mechanics. Let them try and spin this!!
Popular Mechanics attacked http://oilempire.us in its March 2005 story on the 9/11 "truth" movement, but forgot about oilempire.us when its book length treatment of the issue was published for the fifth anniversary (Sept. 2006).
I guess PM / Hearst didn't appreciate the coverage at

Corn ethanol: higher food prices.
http://www.glrc.org/story.php3?story_id=3401
Some people are warning there are hidden costs to the drive for ethanol.
The demand for corn-based ethanol for fuel has pushed the price of corn
close to the highest price it's been in 10 years.
Great Lakes Radio Consortium, Michigan. 23 April 2007.

Corn ethanol: more water pollution.
http://www.glrc.org/story.php3?story_id=3402
Corn needs a lot more nitrogen fertilizer than other crops. And when it
rains, nitrogen moves quickly from the fields to the waterways, especially
when grass strips don't filter the runoff.

Most people, when asked if they would prefer a window in their workspace, say yes. Why then is it so uncommon to see commercial buildings designed with operable windows? Many regions of California have a climate that is suitable for natural ventilation, but naturally cooled buildings are uncommon. This half-day forum will explore these questions and real world examples of buildings that integrate natural ventilation and HVAC systems through a series of presentations by a researcher, an architect, and a mechanical engineer. The focus will be on design and operation of mixed-mode buildings that integrate both natural ventilation and mechanical heating/cooling.

be heard in trial.
Surrender, and let their energy lead you through
dance, performance and art, into the realm of the
senses. Connect with authentic and engaged community

Kids: Face Painting, Balloon Making, Snacks and Arts and Crafts!

NPCs 2006 Playground Report Card, a survey of all 144 playgrounds in
San Francisco, gave each playground a letter grade.
The survey found 30 playgrounds didn't meet minimum standards.
These low scoring playgrounds inspired NPC and RPD to form a
partnership with volunteers at each playground to raise the grades.
This on-going partnership will run on two-year cycles: the first year will
be spent assessing and grading the playgrounds, and during the following
year, necessary repairs and maintenance will be completed to raise the
grade of the low-scoring playgrounds.

Sat 04/28 10:30am–12:00pm spell "IMPEACH" with human bodies on OCEAN BEACH
OCEAN BEACH: This time we're shooting for 2,000 people (the Park Service has
all-but-sworn that they'll issue the permit, but it is not yet in my hand). This
time we'll probably spell out "IMPEACH..." in 100-foot letters followed by
"NOW!" in slightly larger letters: "IMPEACH... NOW!"
Our exact message will depend on how big a crowd we've got registered. In
January, 90% of the attendees registered during the ten days prior to the event.
So, am I worried that right now, three weeks ahead of the event, we've only got
278 people registered? No, I'm not worried -- half the time I'm absolutely
terrified. I've got a helicopter reserved, a photographer lined up, volunteers
willing to help outline the letters that morning (this thing's going to stretch
600-700 feet across the beach!), and I spend every night dreaming my old
wrestling-an-octopus-underwater dream. In my better moments, however, I do feel
surrendered to whatever outcome transpires...
But no matter how many people turn out that day, I intend a PEACEFUL event!
While the first Beach Impeach was indeed a powerful statement, most of the
attendees (including me) felt that it was the most peaceful and gentle protest
they'd ever attended -- in fact, it was one of the more peaceful and enjoyable
days of many of our lives. No speeches, no harangues (no one needs convincing
any more), just 1,000 citizens (and dogs) quietly lying down together to draw a
line in the sand and send a message to the world. And I intend that April 28 be
the same way. I've received numerous suggestions that this time around we have
speakers, or that we spell out a stronger statement (several votes for the
f-word), but that's not the deal. Expect laughter, camaraderie, the woosh of the
ocean, and for a while the chatter of a helicopter or two or three...? (The
weather in January was perfect -- windless, cloudless, sixty-five degrees -- and
while we of course must take whatever weather we get this time around, it sure
would be nice to have a repeat.) To register please visit:

Part of Mind Matters: Exploring the Animal Mind
Spring Lecture Series – 2pm April 28, May 5, and June 9
Beginning April 28, the Exploratorium presents Mind Matters: Exploring the Animal Mind, a three-program Spring lecture series that investigates the latest research and knowledge about how non-human animals' minds are similar to and different from human minds. This series anticipates a new exhibit section Mind: Attention, Emotion, and Judgment, scheduled to open at the Exploratorium in October 2007. This month, Dr. Sam Gosling draws from his research on spotted hyenas, dogs, chimpanzees, squid, and humans to examine the ways in which personality can be measured in non-human animals. This event is included in the price of admission to the Exploratorium.

More Info: http://www.HowWeird.org 11:11 am till 5:55 pm

8th annual HOW WEIRD STREET FAIRE Sunday, May 6, 2007 11:11 am to 5:55 pm
For information, visit regularly - http://www.HowWeird.org
It's Weirdo de Mayo, and the beginning of the outdoor events season! For
the last time, Howard Street will be transformed into a festival for
peace. Due to its overwhelming success, the How Weird Street Faire is
being forced to relocate. So we're going out in style... showcasing some
of the most creative art, music, and performances in America!
Music provided by CCC, Sunset, Tantra, Symbiosis, Earthdance, Lowpro
Lounge, Dub Beautiful, False Profit, and Music Without Borders (Get
Freaky, Muti Music, and Raindance)! Art and decor by Anon Salon.
The How Weird Street Faire is centered at Howard and 12th Street, in the
SOMA district of San Francisco. At that intersection, there will be a
mandala made of grass – the world's only urban crop circle – where
festival-goers can relax, connect, and learn about fostering peace.
Please bike or take public transportation to the faire. There will be a
bike valet service provided by the SF Bicycle Coalition. The faire is
located two blocks south of Market Street & Van Ness.
Entrance at 12th Street and South Van Ness, San Francisco, Earth.
Requested donation of $5 in costume, or $10 without (kids free).
All ages welcome. Colorful costumes strongly encouraged!
All proceeds benefit two Bay Area non-profit organizations.

Be A Part of How Weird's last year on Howard St!
We are currently seeking volunteers for setup/strike, greeting, and
promotion! Variety of shifts available.
Please contact me at weird.volunteer at gmail.com
Youll also recieve free food/drinks and free pass to post party events.
