Praise?

In response to:
Santa Cruz Sentinel article, Supreme Court abortion ruling draws local criticism, praise. by Shanna McCord, dated April 19, 2007
Praise?

How could this level of attack on women be commended?

The Supreme Court reviewed a similar case six years ago in Stenberg v. Carhart and found the ban unconstitutional and exposed so-called "partial-birth abortion" bans as deceptive attempts to prohibit safe abortions performed in the second trimester. Without any new evidence or facts Bush’s Court, complete with newly appointed anti-choice Justices in form with this Administration’s practice of putting ideology before science, revisited the case and ruled without exception to a woman’s health. This retrograde ruling, by design, will erode Roe v. Wade; thereby criminalizing all abortions and have women resorting to septic procedures.

One has only to look at abortion laws in El Salvador and Nicaragua to realize the potential consequences of Roe being over turned. The result will be marked in endless casualties of disadvantaged women with an irreparable impact on the overall public health of women.
