Oakland: Transgender & Genderqueer Self-Defense Class

A self-defense class for transgender and genderqueer people is being held the second weekend of April at Dojo Suigetsukan in Oakland. This class is meant to empower transgender and genderqueer people with the skills necessary to protect themselves against potential harassers and attackers. People who do not fit into the classic gender-binary are often the targets of harassment and hate crimes. Hopefully, this class will enable people to feel comfortable being who they are, without having to worry for their safety. Come with an expectation of sensitivity to personal pronouns and a safe space to discuss and role-play situations where we might need to defend ourselves. All transgender and genderqueer identified people and allies are welcome to benefit from this class. (See below for details. Please repost.)
