"Do you ever get the feeling that everything in America is completely fucked up?"
-Hardcore Harry from Pump up the Voume

Well if so, Youth Coalition Santa Cruz and Free Radio Santa Cruz invite you to a special showing of the "classic" teen angst/pirate radio movie:

PUMP UP THE VOLUME

--From IMDb.com
"Christian Slater is Mark an intelligent but shy teenager who has just moved to Arizona from the East Coast. His parents give him a short-wave radio so he can talk to his pals, but instead he sets up shop as pirate deejay Hard Harry, who becomes a hero to his peers while inspiring the wrath of the local high school principal. "

Come watch the movie and then talk to members of FREE RADIO SANTA CRUZ 101.1 FM and http://www.freakradio.org about FRSC and the "pirate" radio movement. Come learn about the struggle to put news and music on the air that wouldn't get airplay otherwise. Wanna hear your music on the air? Want diverse and dissenting opinions heard on YOUR public airwaves? Bring your questions and talk to live DJ's about the local station and why they do what they do.

Movie with FREE SNACKS at 5 pm. Discussion with FRSC people after the film.
