Money for Wages, Not for War! Rally 2/15
RALLY - Feb15 - 12pm - Baytree Plaza - UC Santa Cruz
Since 2005, UC Custodians have been fighting for livable wages. UC has identified the money for custodians and other low wage workers, but to this day, UC refuses to pay out this money. Stand united with campus workers, and help us encourage UC to release the money!
Under the slogan, "Money for Wages, Not for War!" students will encourage the UC (and U.S.) to focus on supporting human needs - especially those of their own workers - over profits, executive perks, and the development of nuclear weapons at Lawrence Livermore and Los Alamos Labs.
The pro-labor/anti-war rally coincides with Student Strikes Against the War at UC Santa Barbara, Columbia University, and Columbia College (in Chicago), as well as a dozen campus-based antiwar actions across the country on February 15. See http://february15.wordpress.com for more info on these actions.

"Where's the Love?" rallies around Valentine's day have become annual events for labor activists at UCSC. The event is being organized by the Student and Worker Coalition for Justice (SWCJ) and Students Against War (SAW).
