Cindy Sheehan to attend two BIG events Friday in Sacramento
Sacramento area peace activists will join forces with America's most compelling peace activist this Friday, beginning at 4:00 p.m.
As the national and local peace movement continues to build momentum, Cindy Sheehan and many peace supporters will gather at two events in Sacramento this Friday, January 19th, to support the peoples' demands to reverse the course in Iraq.
At the first event--a large protest at 16th & Broadway organized by Stephen and Virginia Pearcy--Cindy and other activists will publicly oppose the occupation of Iraq, along with Doris Matsui's and Congress' failure to stop funding it, and George Bush's criminal plan to send more troops to Iraq.
The anti-war protest will be Cindy's first public appearance since returning from Cuba, where she bravely called for the closure of the U.S. military prison at Guantanamo Bay.
Following the protest, an inspiring "Fireside Chat with Cindy Sheehan" will occur at the home of Stephen and Virginia Pearcy. The fireside chat will be available to the first 60 people to RSVP at stephen.pearcy [at] sbcglobal.net. Food and refreshments will be provided. Subjects of discussion are expected to range from Cindy's trip to Cuba to her concerns about the "surge" and Matsui's and Congress' funding of the Iraq occupation. Donations for Cindy's continued international peace efforts will be accepted but not required.
More details about both of these events can be found on the Indybay calendar or at http://corruptionexposer.blogspot.com/.
