Indybay Has Reached Financial Goal; Thanks to All Donors!

Thank you to everyone who has donated recently to help keep Indybay online.

Your generous donations have not only helped us secure our immediate financial future but you helped us do it in just 18 days. Indybay volunteers are in awe of the support that has come through. Earlier than we hoped for, we can now begin to finalize plans for the future of the site. That's a huge benefit to all of the groups and individuals who rely on Indybay as a key part of their socially conscious lives.

With the very generous contributions from dozens of donors — over 70 in all — Indybay can now confidently secure new web hosting. While we have not settled on our exact hosting provider yet, we know now that we can really start going forward and we have more time than we expected in which to pull it off.

Our plan is to relocate to a new webhost well before the February 1st cut-off with our current webhost, so that we can make the move with as little interruption in service as possible. We should be down less than a day when we do make the move. With our immediate financing now set, we can be assured of continued service throughout most of the year.

As promised, this fundraising drive is officially over and we can soon retire the donation banner at the top of every page. We still encourage everyone who can afford it to sign up as a Friend of Indybay so that we can achieve more regularity in our funding and rely less on benefits and fundraising drives. If enough people choose to donate throughout the year or to become "Friends of Indybay" we may not even need to do the two fundraising drives we are currently anticipating to need each year. For now, though, we can all breathe a big sigh of relief.
