Is there something stopping you from reaching your full potential?
Something elusive you can’t quite identify? Do you experience
something in the way of you having the kind of life you want and
deserve? Does fear, anger, sadness, shame, guilt or for some, even
grief, weigh you down unnecessarily? Do you often take things
personally? Do you find yourself acting in reaction against, or in
continuation of the patterns your parents demonstrated?
You would like to be free from significantly negative emotional
events from your past? Truly free—to such a degree you are even
grateful for them? Would you like to have a greater understanding of
the power of your mind and the minds of those around you?
Have you attended personal development events and found them useful,
but ultimately unfulfilling? Have you experienced “transformation”,
but found it ultimately unpredictable or unsustainable without a
rigorous community?
Would you be interested in freeing up so much of your essence that
you were able live your life’s purpose—and prosper from it?

Becoming Whole Again: A Talk With Richard Tarnas
The Role of Body, Soul, & Cosmos in the Journey of Psychospiritual
Transformation
Most contemporary psychotherapies, from managed care psychiatric drug-
prescribing to pastoral counseling, leave out either the soul or the
body, focusing on one to the exclusion of the other. Unless the
ensouled body and embodied soul are fully engaged in the therapeutic
process, fundamental healing cannot take place. Moreover, given the
disenchanted world view of the modern mind, the quest for
psychological wholeness is continually frustrated by the larger
context of a soulless and purposeless cosmos that is indifferent to
human aspirations. Nor can the individual find personal healing if it
is divorced from the healing needs of the larger Earth community.
Join us Thursday, December 14th, when Full Spectrum Progressive
Psychology presents a FREE informative discussion with Richard Tarnas
as he discusses the historical context of these deep divisions in the
modern condition, and explores the dramatic movement towards
integration that is now emerging through holistic, transpersonal,
ecological, and other integral impulses at work in the
psychotherapeutic community.

Fri Dec 15
As extracted from a posting to stop lfas at yahoo groups:
Low Frequency Active Sonar Bursts eardrums and sheers brains of
whales, dolphins, mammals, causing death and beaching of scores or
even hundreds of whales at a time.
http://seaflow.org
Important news: The Navy is slated to appear THIS FRIDAY IN SAN
FRANCISCO before the California Coastal Commission, in an attempt to
get the Commission's blessing on major sonar exercises (and explosives
training and other activities) off the Southern California coast.
This will be the Commission's first-ever opportunity to weigh in on
mid-frequency sonar training. Unfortunately, as it stands, the
Commission's staff report essentially defers to the Navy, accepting its
assessment of impacts and assuming its mitigation is adequate, even
though the Commission in the past has expressed strong concern about
both.
It's critically important that people attend and speak out at Friday's
hearing -- expressing concern about Navy sonar -- if we want the
Commission to take a strong stand on behalf of California's coast. The
hearing is scheduled for
9am on Friday (12/15)
Hyatt Regency Embarcadero
5 Embarcadero Plaza
The Navy is third on the agenda. You can download the Commission's
staff report from:

other marine life along its coast from Navy sonar, and we need your
help to ensure that this opportunity is not missed.
The Navy will appear this Friday before the California Coastal
Commission in San Francisco, asking for the commission's approval to
conduct major sonar exercises off the southern California coast. This
will be the commission's first-ever opportunity to weigh in on
mid-frequency sonar training.
As you may already know, whales around the world have been found dead
or dying following encounters with mid-frequency military sonar.
Although the Navy itself has acknowledged the lethal impacts of this
technology, which floods vast areas of the ocean with ear-splitting
noise, it has made no assurances that it will take common-sense steps
necessary to protect marine life. The Navy fails to explain, for
example, how it will protect migrating gray whales along California's
coast; how it will conduct exercises at night or in other conditions
of low visibility; or whether it will enforce robust "safety zones"
around sonar vessels to avoid exposing whales to dangerous sound. The
Coastal Commission has required these and other protective measures of
the Navy and other noise-producers in the past, and it should demand
no less here.
== What to do ==
Send a message right away urging the California Coastal Commission to
do all it can to protect whales and other marine life from harmful
Navy sonar.
== Contact information ==
You can send a message to the Coastal Commission directly from NRDC's

Or use the contact information and sample letter below to send your
own message.
If you live in the San Francisco area and would like to do more,
please attend the California Coastal Commission public hearing this
Friday morning (details below) and speak out to make sure the Navy
protects marine life when it trains with sonar off California's coast.
NRDC attorney Cara Horowitz will be speaking during the hearing, and
will be available to answer questions if you choose to attend.

Subject: Protect California's coast from Navy sonar
Dear Mr. Delaplaine and members of the commission,
I urge the Coastal Commission to do all it can to protect whales and
other marine life from harmful Navy sonar training along California's
coast.
This is the commission's first-ever opportunity to weigh in on the
Navy's mid-frequency sonar training. As you know, whales around the
world have been found dead or dying following encounters with
mid-frequency military sonar, and the Navy itself has acknowledged the
lethal impacts of this technology, which floods vast areas of the
ocean with ear-splitting noise.
Although training like this has been conducted for decades, we are
only now beginning to understand the serious impacts it is having on
whales and other coastal resources around the world, and in our own
backyard.
That's why the commission must not approve the Navy's proposed
training without assurances that the Navy will take all steps
necessary to protect marine life. In its application, the Navy fails
to explain, for example, how it will protect migrating gray whales
along California's coast; how it will protect whales during nighttime
exercises or in other conditions of low visibility; or whether it will
enforce robust "safety zones"
around sonar vessels to avoid exposing whales to harmful sound.
The commission has required these and other protective measures of the
Navy in the past, and I urge it to stand strong and demand no less here.
Sincerely, [Your name and address]

Womens Yule Gathering on Friday, December 15 @ 7pm in SF
Welcome beautiful goddesses!
On Friday night, December 15, you are invited to a beautiful home in
San Francisco to celebrate Yule, the welcoming of the sun's rebirth.
This night, we celebrate Winter Solstice, the longest night of the
year. Tonight, the breath of nature is suspended: all waits while
darkness is transformed into the infant light. We watch for the coming
of dawn, when the Great Mother gives birth to the Child Sun, who is the
bringer of hope and the promise of summer. After tonight, the sun
climbs just a little higher and stays longer in the sky each day. Much
celebration is to be had as the ancestors await the rebirth of the Sun
Child that warms the frozen Earth and made her birth seeds from her
womb.
Please arrive to the gathering at 7pm with a prepared meal for the
potluck(salad and dessert will be taken care of), a towel for the hot
tub, your own plate, cup, and eating utensils, and red, green and white
attire for the holiday season. Also we ask that you bring an article of
clothing wrapped for the gift exchange. And of course, your amazing,
tranformative self. Call Sherry at 510-410-8876 to RSVP and for
directions. We are awake in the night. We turn the wheel to bring in
the light. We call from the sun the womb of night. Blessed Be!
Love and light, Sherry and Molly huggima @ yahoo.com

Raise a glass and toast the four years that CC has worked to promote and enable a participatory culture. CC's big day is being hosted by the good people at Songbird – the supercool open source media player that's taking the Web by storm.
Songbird is located at 777 Florida Street, Suite 300 in San Francisco, CA. The entrance is on 20th Street.
There will be an open bar, courtesy of Cooley Godward Kronish. There will also be a Special CC Birthday Brew, available for five dollars a bottle, courtesy of the "Free" Beer guys of Superflex.
Music will be provided by DJs Aus, Deckard, and Ooonce Oonce.
Since we're in the midst of our annual fundraising campaign, we'll be asking for a small donation at the door. Please contribute whatever you can to show that you support CC's work.
Please RSVP to party [at] creativecommons.org by Dec. 8th as space is limited.
The regular CC Salon in December is not happening. In its place is the annual CC Birthday Party which is to celebrate Creative Commons 4th birthday.

Gratitude Nights! Dec. 16th! Saturday, December 16, 8:00 PM
…is the possibility of empowered community in action. Once a month, we come together to create a loving celebration of life, and to transform what we refer to as "socializing." These drug and alcohol-free parties exist as amazing opportunities to express ourselves, to share ourselves, and to know ourselves. We generate the party from within, and at the same time we generate generous funds for the causes we, as a community, are a stand for. Holding our authentic connection as sacred, we honor our unity in ceremony and dance. By choosing to celebrate for change, we come to know the path to be the goal…
Universal Peace and Universal Party!
Come be a part of the celebration for change!
This will be a fundraiser for Other Paths, sponsoring three inner-city
youths from Richmond in their journey to Africa, where they will build a
water-filtration system for an impoverished village in Kenya.
The night will include live music, dancing, visual art, face-paiting,
raffle, sacred ceremony, vegan organic food, on-site healing practitioners
... love and community!
This is a drug and alcohol-free event.

What: Introduction to Personal Evolution
When: THURSDAY December 14th 7:00pm to 9:30pm
Where:The Arete Center for Excellence in SF
If you answered yes to any of that, join me for this free event.

Immediate help needed Friday - Protect California's coast from Navy sonar

other marine life along its coast from Navy sonar, and we need your
help to ensure that this opportunity is not missed.
== What to do ==
Send a message right away urging the California Coastal Commission to
do all it can to protect whales and other marine life from harmful
Navy sonar.

You can send a message to the Coastal Commission directly from NRDC's
Earth Action Center at

3rd Annual There Is No Peace in Bethlehem Silent Procession
Please join us Sunday, December 24 4:30–6:00 p.m. for a candlelight gathering
Our presence will remind holiday shoppers there will never be peace in Bethlehem while Palestinians are living under Israeli military occupation.
We will gather at the southwest entrance to Union Square, Geary and Powell Streets, San Francisco. Please tell your family and friends, as we would like as many people as possible to join us. Please bring a candle.
For more information, please email: thereisnopeaceinbethlehem @ yahoo.com
Sponsored by: Community Action for Peace and Justice in the Middle East, Friends of Deir Ibzi’a, Bay Area Women in Black, SF Women in Black, Middle East Children’s Alliance, Women's International League for Peace & Freedom, and American Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee–SF.
It is resistance that enables people to see that the suffering is not inevitable,
not a natural disaster, that it has a human cause that could be ended.

A historical overview of Western capitalism's response to the Malthusian dilemma: The military importance of oil; why the system can't afford peace; how the system manufactures enemies to keep the war machine going; and how our government has built up modern terrorism to create the enemy that it needs to maintain a permanent war economy and allegiance to the existing power structure.

After a hugely successful inaugural event last year, SCI is happy to collaborate with Madison House, Anon Salon, and Peak Experience Productions, for the Seventh Annual Sea of Dreams New Year’s Eve event.
Like last year, cultural forces will unite for two freaky nights at the San Francisco’s Concourse Exhibition Center for the biggest New Years weekend gathering on the west coast. Expect three stages hosting an incredible roster of live bands, cabaret and circus acts, DJ's and dance collectives, performance troupes, and more. All set within multiple thematic environments, Sea of Dreams promises something for people of every tribe.
Musical acts performing on the three stages include the The String Cheese Incident (playing two full sets each night), British nu-school breaks producer Tipper, revolutionary underground artist Bassnectar, modern day traveling minstrel DJ Mark Farina, the down-tempo trip-hop dance music of Lotus, live electronic hipsters Pnuma Trio and plenty of others still to be announced.
Performance troupe and dance collective participants include The Indigo Belly Dance, The Mystic FamilyCircus, Circus Contraption, Black and Blue Burlesque Anon Salon’s Circularious, and others. In addition to the stage performances, expect art encampments, novelty zones, installations, midnight spectacles, supergames, and everything.
