by uprising
UNITE HERE to hold discussion, organize for new campaign named 'Hotel Workers Rising', to lift standards in the hospitality industry here in Sacramento. The meeting will take place on Wednesday, August 9th, from 1-2PM at the Sierra 2 School, Rom 10 (2791 24th St)

Today, hotel workers in Sacramento maintain luxurious hospitality for their
guests while struggling to support themselves and achieve their dreams for
their families. This fall, we have a critical opportunity to raise the
standard of living in this city and extend opportunity to more of our
neighbors.

We invite you to take part in a community meeting next month to hear from
Sacramento hotel workers about the conditions they face there and what they
are doing together to change them. It will be a chance to discuss how our
publicly-subsidized hotels could better contribute to the public good and we
as a community can do to hold them accountable.

We hope you will join other leaders in our community to discuss a new campaign
to lift standards in a crucial industry here in Sacramento and across North
America:

Wednesday, August 9
1 - 2 PM
Sierra 2 School, Room 10
2791 24th St.

We look forward to joining you in a discussion of our hopes for this community
and the work ahead to realize them.

Sincerely,

Frances Gracechild, Resources for Independent Living
Darrick Lawson, Stonewall Democrats
Joe McLaughlin, UNITE HERE Local 49
Joan Lee, Grey Panthers
