Fightback Theater Productions announces: "Can't Stop the Clock"
Fightback Theatre Productions
URGENT APPEAL
Since mid April, Fightback Theater Productions has been rehearsing a political play with Anti War Heroes. Three men and one woman protestor endure onslaughts from the Police, Vigilante 'Patriots' and the Court System. But they emerge heads high . A triumph of conscience and free will in the play "Can't Stop the Clock" by local playwright Nicholas Whitehead
Can you help finance this wonderful drama that speaks for our peace community ? It costs quite a bit to put on a quality show accessible to a variety of audience. There are no big investors backing non-commercial theater with a message. Nicholas has a solid background in theater and media and he has assembled a highly qualified group of actors and actresses for this production, Performances will start mid July, so a venue must be booked soon. Please consider making an advance financial contribution. (Even small amounts help, purchasing materials and paying for advance publicity}
"Can't Stop the Clock" tells the story of four protestors at the commencement of the iniquitous "Shock and Awe" bombardment of Baghdad that opened the whole Iraq War. One is a military veteran turned peace volunteer, one is a smalltime contractor, a third is a woman who does homecare for seniors and handicapped, and finally there is a young college student. Their attitudes vary from pacifism to militant virtual anarchist. The drama shows how they handle the actions of the system { the "machine of control" }
It is possible Fightback Productions will do at least one benefit to raise funds for legal defense of an imprisoned Conscientious Objector or Military War Resister. (Contact us with ideas)
PLEASE, AS AN INDIVIDUAL, OR AN ORGANIZATION, CONSIDER MAKING OUR SHOW HAPPEN.
Send a check to: Hilda Whitehead ( marked for "Theatrical Expenses"}
Or contact -- Nicholas Whitehead at 475 2012 / (messages> 234 2067
(Co Director with Nicholas will be John Salupo with 15 years theater and film experience in San Francisco and Los Angeles. Nicholas himself is a former talkshow host on Community TV)
