Santa Cruz eviction of disabled & critically ill

I, a 58 yaer old disabled marine pipefitter and my partner who has full blown AIDS and many other disabilities, are facing an Eviction lawsuit and have been unable to find an attorney and must go to a hearing on July 12. My partner needs his HUD voucher to be put through ASAP and to find a 2 BR house by early August. PLEASE HELP!

My partner who has full blown AIDS and only 56 T-cells was battered and falsely arrested on April 25, 2006. A "very minor fire" was put out by myself and a neighbor when he was taken to jail. On May 3 I received a 30 day notice after 12 years of paying my rent in full on time. In addition the Unlawful Detainer lawsuit served June 14 claimed my partner was a "subtenant" despite his "implied tenancy" of five years and the fact that the property management company accepted money from SCAP for his rent and utilities. I filed a Demurrer and Motion to Strike with the Court and a hearing is set on July 12. We have been unable to find a lawyer to represent us and are severely stressed. My partner is critically ill and unable to take his medicine due to the stress. We need an attorney and for my partners HUD voucher to be mailed to him and to find a 2 BR Section 8 home by early August. Lawyer Referral and Legal Aid are unable to represent us. Donna: Perhaps you have the names, e-mails, and phone numbers of folks you want indymedia people to contact in protest or concern. Such as the landlord, local Legal Aid that supposed to be helping you, the relevant Supervisor on the Board, Tim Fitzmaurice on the Santa Cruz City Council, etc.?
