** Take Action During Medical Marijuana Week **

Nothing says "I love you" like showing your compassion. Every year during the
week of February 15 medical marijuana patients around the country take time to
raise awareness about and celebrate the passage of California's Proposition
215. Also known as the Compassionate Use Act, Prop. 215 helped to spark the
modern-day medical marijuana movement!

This week, take time to celebrate the 10th year of the passage of California's
Proposition 215. Below are quick and easy ways for you to help protect
patients and promote safe access to medical cannabis for patients across the
country.

** 5 Things You Can Do to Celebrate 2/15 **

* 1. Tell Congress to Reclassify Marijuana Now! *
<http://www.safeaccessnow.org/HR2087>

A bi-partisan coalition of more than 30 members of Congress has introduced
HR2087, The States' Rights to Medical Marijuana Act. If passed, this
legislation would, among other things, reschedule marijuana from a Schedule
I to Schedule II drug according the Controlled Substances Act. Write your
Representative now and urge support for States' Rights!

* 2. Pledge Your Resistance To Federal Raids *
<http://www.safeaccessnow.org/form.php?id=10>

Your pledge of resistance helps to grow a nationwide network of resistance
against DEA raid activity that deprives patients of their rights to medical
marijuana. Commit to helping us fight back! Pledge your resistance today.
Together we can support patients' rights and defend safe and legal access to
medical marijuana.

* 3. Join a Patients' Union *
<http://www.safeaccessnow.org/section.php?id=80>

Patients suffering from a variety of conditions have historically organized to
demand early availability of, and safe access to, medicines that provide them
relief. In that same spirit, ASA is working with patients nationwide to
organize
Patients' Unions based on shared diagnosis.

Patients' Unions are open to patients who use medical marijuana to treat their
conditions, survivors of conditions, patient caregivers, researchers,
physicians, and other health care providers who support the use of medical
cannabis. Ensure your voice gets heard! Join a Patients' Union today.

* 4. Support Medical Marijuana Defendants in Court *
<http://www.safeaccessnow.org/article.php?id=354>

Attend and organize around court dates for those with medical marijuana
trials. Nothing tells the federal judiciary that we are watching like a
courtroom full of supporters, and subsequent press. During Ed Rosenthal's
trial, supporters packed the courtroom and demonstrated outside, which put
pressure on the judge, prosecutor, and jury, as well as alerted the media
about the strength of support behind medical marijuana. It made a difference.
You can too!

cases, and rapid response to federal law enforcement encounters.

People like you are the reason that ASA is building political power and
beating back the attack on medical marijuana. Your online credit card donation
