ABOUT THE WOMENS COMMUNITY CLINIC
The Women's Community Clinic (WCC) began with a small group of volunteers in early 1999. We have grown to over 100 women (primarily volunteers) who have provided over 10,000 appointments since opening.

Our mission is to improve health by providing free, respectful, quality care for women, by women. We believe that preventive, educational care is essential to lifelong health and is best achieved in a safe, welcoming environment that encourages women to seek the care they need. The WCC is a pro-choice and client-centered clinic.

All of our services are always free. We provide sexual and reproductive health care. We do not provide primary care or prenatal care. Our most frequently used services include screening for sexually transmitted infections, routine annual exams, birth control consultations, and diagnosis and treatment of common gynecological concerns. We see girls and women age 12 and up, from first pelvic exam to post-menopause. We also offer complementary health (acupuncture), HIV testing, Street Outreach and a database of referrals to other agencies.

WCC VOLUNTEER PROGRAM
All of our volunteers, both lay and clinical, play a central role in ensuring our mission to provide free, respectful, quality health care for women, by women. From a client's first contact with the clinic to her final conversation with a clinician, she will have interacted almost exclusively with our volunteer team. Therefore, by volunteering your time, you are creating an extraordinary impact on the lives of our clients.

When you volunteer, you:
o Help women who have limited access to health care receive excellent health care services.
o Gain experience working in a grassroots, community based clinic.
o Have opportunities to expand knowledge and experience with women's health.
o Work closely with a diverse community of clients; work closely with healthcare professionals.
o Are part of a fun volunteer environment with regular get-together and a great sense of community.
o Help shape the future of WCC and women's healthcare.

Women of color, LGBTQQI, multi-lingual women, differently-abled women and women who reflect the diversity of the community are encouraged to apply!
