On May 22, 2005, 19-year-old Jasa 'Haille' Anguillo was strangled to death by her ex-boyfriend just outside of Cloverdale. Despite their grief, Haille's parents asked us at Women's Justice Center to look into the events that led up to Haille's death.
Our report which can be seen in full at http://www.justicewomen.com/teen_domestic_violence/tv_index.html
found a shocking failure of judges, police, district attorneys, probation officers, and courts to deal with the escalating criminality for years. Please see how the discriminatory responses of the criminal justice system can kill, not just by over-reacting, but just as lethally, by turning their backs as well.
