Action Alert from Alameda County Central Labor Council
We need your help today!

NO ON 75: PROGRESS REPORT
Three points of movement in last month

With three weeks to go in the election of our lifetime, Alameda County
volunteers have worked nearly 1,000 shifts. Union members have been key
to persuading and identifying voters. That's why polling shows a 3% drop
in support for Prop 75.

* However, we've only just begun. We need to work that many shifts again
before Get-Out-The-Vote weekend, and that many shifts yet again for
GOTV November 5-8.

* If the election were held today, Prop 75 would pass and our voice
would be silenced. That would mean a second term for Arnold
Schwarzenegger, continued Republican domination in Congress, and
disastrous results in key local races that directly impact our
members' jobs in the public and private sector.

All union leaders must answer the call to arms today.

* Personally join the Saturday, Oct. 22 precinct walk in Oakland with US
Rep. Barbara Lee

* Bring your members to the walk

* Sign up now for your local's phone bank night, Mon.-Thurs., at
any one of 11 locations

* Pick up mailing labels for your registered voters in Alameda
County from the CLC and mail a letter to your registered members (Call
Clarence Frost, AFL-CIO, 632-4242 x226)

* Plan now to release office staff for Friday, Nov. 4 for kit preparation

* Plan now to release agents and executive board members
fulltime Sat., Nov. 5 - Tues., Nov 8
