Supreme Court nominee John Roberts will begin the process of Senate review in early September and the Coalition for a Fair and Independent Judiciary held a press conference on August 30, 2005. Three members of civil rights organizations took questions from the press on Robert's positions through his rulings as well as his advocacy duties in the Reagan & Bush administrations.

Participants were:
* Hilary Shelton, Director,Washington Bureau of the NAACP
* Jim Ward, President, ADA Watch/National Coalition for Disability Rights
* Judy Appelbaum, VP and Legal Dir, Nat Women's Law Center

Questions were also entertained by the press via this conference call.
