Theme category for "elders" ?

by TBL
Could IndyBay create a thematic category for elders?
Preferably edited by the Grey Panthers?
Dear IndyMedia.org,

There's NO "thematic category" for
age, aging, ageism, elders, old persons, seniors, etc.

Generally, elders are ignored by the left;
since most elders cling to the attitudes they formed
before they turned 40.

But there ARE some progressive elders --
especially in the Grey Panthers.

May I suggest that IndyBay.org consider creating
a thematic category concerning elders?

Please consult the Grey Panthers BEFORE doing so,
and invite them to edit this category....

:)

PS:
I'm NOT volunteering to edit.

I will be posting some elder-related
"crone-ology"
historical time-lines;
including many brief items
like this one:
....

19 June 2005: SF: Around 500 "midlife and senior gay and bisexual men and their admirers" attend 5th annual Geezers Ball; dancing to the "big band sound" of City Swing; and giving the 2005 Harry Hay award to playwright George Birimisa, 81. [ SF Bay Times, 23 June 2005]

All it takes to maintain a feature page on indybay is one or more volunteer editors. Email sfbay-web [at] indymedia.org to get involved, subscribe to sfbay-announce to get invites for upcoming orientations, and also watch our "get involved" page for announcements (see left column).

Dear Gray Panthers of SF area:

IndyBay.org needs a page devoted to elders.

Is there one web-savvy Gray Panther who would
volunteer to edit such a page?

Could Gray Panthers, as an organization,
appoint a committee to edit such an
IndyBay page?

As of July 30,
nobody has volunteered to edit a page about "elders".

Apparently there's
little or no
interest in this topic???
by lets see here
Not that many people are going to see a post from awhile ago on the indybay site but Im sure there are some actvists would would be interested in helping who just havnt seen the post. Perhaps try emailing Grey Panther email lists?
