Another email just came in, with an intelligent perspective on
Ukraine's prospects for joining the EU.


Hi John,

I am awake happy today, because my kids are sleeping peacefully in their rooms and last night I could not sleep, because my daughter came home at 1o’clock at night and I could not reach her on her cell phone before she came. I was not really nervous and angry with her, I just could’nt sleep. This afternoon I am leaving for Sevastopol to interpret class for students. That will be two nights in a row of the train experience, but I like a sound that sound train wheels make.

You asked what were my thoughts around Ukraine joining EU. That would be great, but we are not invited there until we become less criminal and not a corrupt state, until we stop money laundering and have freedom of speech. They don’t accept there a poor and relatively democratic country. To my mind, Euro integration choice means choosing a proper model of national development. And it will take time to implement all needed changes. So we have to deal with our domestic situation before we go there. And all this current process I perceive as not working for our good image. But, we will see
