I have just learned that Raytheon's top CEO's and their spouses will be in
town this evening having dinner at either the SF Maritime Museum or The
Balclutha at Pier 41. The event will be held by Mana Allison, a local event
planning company. I work for one of the companies contracted by Mana
Allison, and I wish to remain anonymous as my job would be in jeapordy for
leaking this information.
I strongly object to my company's involvement in an event honoring Raytheon
executives. This is a prime example of a group that has profitted by the
loss of lives in Iraq by building bombs and "aspiring to be the most admired
defense and aerospace systems supplier." I think it would be a shame for
this group to come to San Francisco to enjoy the view of the bay and bridge
and not also see our strong network of activists against war.
The group will arrive for dinner tonight between 6 and 7:30 pm. I will know
by 2:30 pm today whether the event will be held at the Balclutha or Maritime
Museum and I will pass on the information immediately. I hope hope hope it
is possible to organize a protest or direct action with such short notice.
