I'm watching CSPAN, and they covered an ACLU Press conference, then but they
spent the last 15 minutes in someone's apartment in Brooklyn totally
filming every aspect of it, going into the bathroom and all the bedrooms
with extreme closeup and slowly scanning the titles of the books in their
bookshelf, and the owner is letting 10 people stay there, and they were respectfully interviewing activists including asking them about what they are eating and how much it costs.
Then they switched to the march, which seems to be configured like a macy's parade because it is so pre-planned by the police with barricades keeping people off the sidewalks. A group of republicans is standing behind the CSPAN camera chanting "4-more years" for about fve minutes, but their voices are already hoarse and crackling, so they're going to be out by this afternoon.
I can't figure out entirely what is going on though. What is great is that the CSPAN people provide no commentary, but I keep hearing choruses of boos - perhaps from marchers seeing the republicans standing behind the cameraman, but there is no 360 degree view. It looks really crowded, and luckily people aren't all carrying ANSWER signs or some junk, but all have their own signs, and mostly look very pretty, mundane and peaceful.
