Hellarity House under threat of eviction!!!
Long lived east bay house in Oakland known as Hellarity under threat of eviction!!!
Along lived house known as hellarity in the east bay of Oakland California is currently under threat of eviction!
The house is quite well know in the traveling
community.Among other things the house offers travelers from out of town a place to stay and has an open door policy. The current owner of the house has recently gone bankrupt as he has taken out many loans by putting Hellarity up as collateral along with other houses he owns. He so far hasn't been able to pay off these loans and has been basicaly jugalling financial debt for years now and its all coming to an end.The house was scheduled to go up for auction on july 2nd on the oakland court house steps and we had a small demonstration to protest the sale with a small turnout of maby 25 people from the community. During the auction 8 thugs that worked for a realty speculator came over to hellarity and then proceeded to break through the door,as most people were attending the auction. The thugs were later chased out and told the police were on there way, which eventually scared them off. Right when the bidding was supposed to start, the owner shows up with some legal papers and declares bankrupsy. So the auction was posponed till the following friday, and it turns out it got delayed yet again for next friday July the 16th. We hope thatmore people from the community will get involved to stop the eviction and fight to save this long lived house! There is talk of trying to buy the house at the auction, its just there isnt much time to come up with a rather large amount of money with such short notice. We are still trying,we need more support from the community and hope that others will get involved!!
Please come to protest the auction with us!!!
The next auction for the sale of this house is scheduled for Friday JULY 16TH at 12 noon sharp at the oakland court house at 1225 fallon street in down town Oakland
Hope to see you therefeel free to call us at
