When pigs attack
SFPD mistakes a video camera for a fajita -- some shaky video from March 20th in San Francisco.
March 20, 2004: As police arrested three antiwar protesters (breaking one protester's arm in the process) on Market street, a motorcycle tipped over and one riot cop decided to pin it on an IMC videographer -- rushing the reporter, slamming him face first onto the pavement and bashing his camera on the ground (breaking it). Then they bent the reporter's thumb back until it broke. Although police eventually figured out the reporter hadn't knocked over the motorcycle, they arrested him anyway and charged him with "interfering with an arrest" (it wouldn't look good to give someone a nice bump on the head and then just let him go..). Brian from SF Food Not Bombs, one of the protesters arrested at Market and Taylor, was charged with felony "lynching".
