The Colors of Woodland art show and auction benefit event will feature the work of over 100 renowned artists who are Woodland High School alumni. This community driven event will establish an endowment fund to provide long term financial support for internships, Advanced Placement courses and scholarships for Woodland High art students.

Woodland High School's Art Department has produced more award-winning student artists than any other high school in California and is recognized as one of the top high school art programs in the nation.

The Colors of Woodland art show and auction will take place June 4-6, 2004 at Waite Hall at the Yolo County Fairgrounds in Woodland. Friday, June 4, 6:30-9:30 p.m. will be a gala opening for the artists and sponsors and will include a silent auction. Tickets for the Friday evening event are $75 per person and must be purchased in advance. For opening night tickets contact Sandra Heidrick at (530) 662-8031. The show will be open admission free to the general public Saturday, June 5, 10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. and Sunday, June 6, 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Silent auction bid cards may be purchased for $5 at the door on Saturday or Sunday.

Participating alumni artists, many of whom now live across the U.S. and overseas, include assemblage artist George Herms, abstract painter Frank Owen, illustrator Peggy Ackley, painter/muralist Temo Moreno, landscape painter Jon Jay Cruson, painter Suzanne Adan, glass artist John DeWit, movie maker Walter Klenhard, architects Peter Saucerman and Heidi Hansen Dougherty. Alumni art will also come from the fields of fashion and costume design, photography, graphic and web design, sculpture, ceramics, performance art and others.
