emergency call to action against new war

by iac (iac [at] actionsfbay.org)
information about emergency protests against new war
No New War Against Iraq! Emergency Response Protest — San Francisco

5 p.m. on the day of a new U.S. war
12 noon on the following Saturday
Market and Powell Streets

Since the Gulf War, 1.5 million Iraqi civilians have perished from malnutrition and disease caused by economic sanctions. Disregarding all international law, Bush, Cheney, Wolfowitz and company are planning to send tens of thousands of young GIs to kill and be killed in a war for Big Oil.

We call on civilians and soldiers alike to exercise their political right to speak out against an illegal war that will benefit only Exxon/Mobil, Texaco, Chase, Citibank, Raytheon, Lockheed, Boeing, and George Bush's corporate backers, his real constituents.

Money for jobs, housing, healthcare, and education — Not for war! Defend civil rights — Say no to racism and racial profiling!

International A.N.S.W.E.R. (Act Now to Stop War and End Racism). Call 415-821-6545 or email answer [at] actionsfbay.org for more information.

All this rhetoric coming out of the mouths of people who say that "as soon as the USA attacks Iraq, we will mobilize a protest" don't seem to realize the fact that America is already bombing and attacking Iraq.

Just cuz fucking CNN or the lying Western Free Press haven't told you about it, doesn't mean it ain't happening.

These goddamn 'activists' essentially let the Mainstream Propaganda media determine and decide the terms of debate.

"Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger."

One way you can tell how bad this war is, is by looking at the breadth of the political spectrum opposing it. From WWP to Pat Buchanan, America rises up against Bush's Folly.

Since none of you seem to be too well versed in current events, I thought I'd let you know that the British and US military have been militarily engaged with Iraq (i.e., at war and killing people) for the past ten years. They're called "no fly zones."

20 years from now, when the people of the middle east have more freedom, and the world is a safer place because power has been taken from a few dictators and instaed is shared by millions of people, your view of Bush's actions will be very different.

The march toward human liberty is a beautiful thing. Don't fight it.
