Large Peace March In San Rafael

Tonight, perhaps a thousand or more people from many walks of life, participated
in a peaceful demonstration opposing the Bush plan for invading Iraq. Large for a
San Rafael protest, this march is indicative of the growing opposition to the transparent
oil grabing strategy of the White House. After the march, speeches were delivered in
a nearby highschool gym. Fourteen year old highschool peace activists gave talks that
brought thunderous applause from the packed house. Moving calls to action were
delivered by march organizers from Marin Peace & Justice Coalition and Marin Interfaith
Council. One of the organizers saying, " Spirituality without political action is lame, and
political action without spirituality is blind" set the tempo for the entire event.
