thank you for regurgitating, almost word-for-word, what the corporate media has been espousing. please explain to indymedia's unenlightened readers how the US can *possibly* help with progress toward a just peace when the bullets and missiles that are killing palestinian civilians are paid for, donated, or loaned to israel? and how could it be called a "just peace" when arafat's concessions to israel mean that the millions he "represents" are still without real control over the land they would live on, the water they would drink, or the jobs they would get.

sure, violence begets more violence, and suicide bombings are certainly not going to magically bring peace. that isn't really their intention. i cannot personally justify those despicable acts, but are the acts of the israeli government any less despicable? what would it take for you to lash out in the only way you though you could get attention, strike back at your oppressors? the palestinian people have the fucking right to be angry. so do the israeli people. it's their so-called leaders that have brought them into this, their so-called leaders who drive them forward in conflict and fan the flames of murder and revenge.

I find this picture very good. It shows in one glance that the perpetrator and the victim are all rolled up in one. No one can honour terror, but no one can deny that a person willingly blows him or herself up for nothing.
