thought this could be valuable here.

one thing that has miffed some of the direct actionists i know is the one where the pro-war belief group replies to the anti-war group solution of *education* by saying that such takes A LONG TIME.

Two anecdotes:
When governments wish to move people to go to war, all the "patriotic" institutions step to attention and proceed to "educate" their blindly trusting "consumers"/followers, and suddenly everyone is jumping around putting yellow ribbons on trees (1990) or flags on their cars, etc. etc. and parroting the spoonfed information.

Imagine if our "benevolent" implementers intellectually ceceeded from obedient submission to their Lordly bosses and began educating people about the games of, say, *propaganda*. It's a fine idea, anyway. For those inclined to risk their depressing jobs, topical lifestyles, and losing multitudes of so-called "friends", you may wish to take a read of Jaques Ellul's _Propaganda, the Formation of Men's Attitudes_ for starters.

Go for the metaphorical jugular of the entire system, basically, by demystifying the entire methodology of pushing *emotionally potent over-simplifications* on well-conditioned "consumers".

#2
Know that some news has a habit of travelling like wildfire, especially when *parents* begin to understand how their *children* are being victimized by the oligarchy of "experts".

If parents were able to understand/be educated to the psychiatrick game, for example (demystified via persons like Kutchins and Kirk, T.Szasz, Basaglia, etc.), they would suddenly start to ask all the "wrong" questions as psychiatrists/social workers sought to label their kids with "disorders" like "Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder" and "Oppositional Defiant Disorder".

So, you study how that would take off, if people were able to be aware of it in some major newsmedia outlet like cnn or People magazine...and you can get an idea that education doesn't really take a long time at all.

)note: if your email gets bounced back to you when attempting to contact me, know that this is a phenomenon that ought to be investigated by those interested in covert action; I've got some pretty hard evidence about how some are able to block people's email(
