There's just ONE problem with this. NONE of these fruit varieties will grow in Cascadia without the aid of climate control. (ie. a greenhouse)
 
Apparently, this list came in from the Bay Area, but even there, only Avocados would stand much of a chance.
 
For Cascadia we would want to replace these with apples, pears, peaches, cherries, plums and possibly a few others like figs which can grow in at least Southern Cascadia. It would also be far better to root cuttings from established native heirloom varieties and transplant the mini-saplings oopposed to just dropping seed here and there. Not only is the seed difficult to start, but the origin of most of the fruit you will find in stores these days is very questionable and this is not the sort of germplasm that I for one would like to see spread around into Cascadia's enviornment.

...If you can make this meeting tonight it would really help. Those
supporting the ban will be out in force.

Two years ago you could have a fire anywhere on Ocean Beach, the BAN
group won a victory and there is only a mile long strip of Ocean Beach
where you can still have a fire.

If they win tonight there will be not be any beach in San Francisco
where you can have a beach bonfire.

That would be a sad thing indeed.

I grew up in Florida and we were NEVER allowed to have a fire on the
beach. I always heard how cool California was, because you could have a
bonfire and bring your dogs to the beach.

Seems that the coolness is about to be lost. How ironic it's in Burning
Man's back yard.

Following a vegan pot-luck dinner we will sample and rate some of
the most delicious and creative vegan dark chocolate bars around.
From Paul Newman's orange flavored chocolate to the lavender and
mint offerings from Dagoba, we will be tasting a variety of rich,
organic, dark chocolates to determine which we like best. If your
friends have been reluctant to come to one of our meetings, this is
a good one to invite them to!

You may not want to bring a dessert as your contribution to this
dinner. But do bring a vegan dish to share with at least eight
people, your own plate, utensils and serving utensil, cup and cloth
napkin. Vegan food contains no foods of animal origin, such as eggs
or dairy products, meat, fish, or fowl.

Directions:
From 101 take the Freitas Parkway exit. On the East side of 101, go
North (left) on the frontage road, also called Redwood Highway. Go
1/2 mile past the light at Professional Parkway, and La Plaza
Conference Center is the second office complex on your right. Drive
to the far back of the conference center, behind the last buildings,
and look for the well lit conference room. We start promptly, so
please come a few minutes early.

Doolittle’s wife Julie receives a 15% commission on his fundraising, and Doolittle’s Congressional Chief of Staff Rich Robinson moonlights on his campaign. With Abramoff in custody, Cheney is now lending a hand to Doolittle, and helping his corporate friends buy a little more influence.

We will be meeting on Sunday, May 21st @ 1pm at Skates on Haight (@ Stanyan) to rent roller skates. If the idea of skating seems daunting, please feel free to bring a bike, big wheel, or whatever floats your furry boat!
Also, we will be picnic'ing. Please bring your favorite picnic-style food and drinks. I will be searching for a couple little red wagons to tote our goodies behind us as we skate.

# raw vegan potluck Tuesday May 23rd in Greer Park, Palo Alto. This
will start around 6:30 and go until people go home or sunset.

You should bring the follow:
- a raw vegan dish (main course and/or desert, etc.) and all required
serving plate/utensiles for that dish.

- plate/bowl/knife/fork/spoon/chopsticks/cut/etc to eat with.

- something to drink (i.e. water, or maybe something to share).

- a blanket (or chair) to sit on.

Greer Park should have a picnic area with seats and tables, but best
bring something to sit on like a blanket just incase space is limited.
I'm not sure how many people will show up, maybe plan on your dish
serving 5 to 8 people.

Sounds good? Let me know if you can make it, or if you've got any
ideas for where to hold it. Feel free to email if you've got any
