Tonight: Talk and video on workers in Venezuela
The Long Haul's Sunday café night will feature a presentation on Venezuelan workers by Berlin-based journalist and videographer Dario Azzellini. The evening will begin, as is the Long Haul custom, with dinner at about 7:30 pm. The program will begin around 8.
Dario Azzellini, co-creator (with Oliver Ressler) of the video installation on worker-occupied factories in Venezuela that is currently at the Berkeley Art Museum (http://www.indybay.org/calendar/event_display_detail.php?event_id=8965), will be presenting their earlier video, Venezuela From Below, at the Long Haul this evening.
Dario will also, time permitting, speak about the privatization of war, a subject on which he has written extensively and has published several books, the most recent of which is El negocio de la guerra, Editorial Txalaparta, 2005.
Donations (voluntary, but customarily $3 or so) received for tonight's dinner and program will go to the Frente Campesino Ezequiel Zamora. (See http://www.indybay.org/news/2006/02/1799982.php.)
