peak oil 2000? We will feel it in 2012 (we're feeling it now)
Kuwait oil reserves only half official estimate
http://tinyurl.com/cdxhy
What they don't want you to know about the coming oil crisis
http://news.independent.co.uk/environment/article339928.ece
When we reach the topping point of peak oil
depends on whether we have 1 or 2 trillion barrels of oil left.
the difference between 1 and 2 trillion barrels is seismic. It is roughly the difference between a full Lake Geneva and a half-full one, were that lake full of oil and not water. If 2 trillion barrels of oil or more indeed remain, the topping point lies far away in the 2030s. The "growing" and "cheap" parts of the oil-supply equation are feasible until then, at least in principle, and we have enough time to bring in the alternatives to oil. If only 1 trillion barrels remain, however, the topping point will arrive some time soon, and certainly before this decade is out. The "growing" and "cheap" parts of the oil-supply equation become impossible, and there probably isn't even enough time to make a sustainable transition to alternatives.
...agrees there is a 300-billion-barrel exaggeration in Opec's reserves.
This happened between 1985 and 1990 when OPEC nations "massaged" their data so they sell more oil under OPEC quotas.
Oh look, we found more oil...
In fact, given the time frames with which offshore oilfields are developed and depleted, it seems certain that there will be nowhere near enough oil to meet the combined forces of depletion and demand between 2008 and 2012.
In 1956, a Shell geologist called M King Hubbert famously calculated that oil production in the "lower 48" states of America would peak in 1971. HE WAS WRONG. Oil production in the "lower 48" states of America peaked in 1970.
The US is just short of halfway down the second half of the curve now.
In other words, it has used up some three-quarters of its original endowment of recoverable oil.
Given its almost total lack of attention to the efficiency with which oil is burned, the US becomes more dependent on foreign oil imports by the day.
The American pattern of historical oil discovery and production is only a loose guide to what is going on in the rest of the world. In the US, oil, once found, was pumped without much substantive effort at constraint. The curves for discovery and production are going to look different where conservative nationalised companies are doing the looking,...
Today, more than 60 out of the 65 countries possessing oil have passed their discovery topping points and 49 of them have passed their production topping points. The US has a particularly long gap between the two: 40 years (1930 to 1970). The UK has one of the shortest: 25 years (1974 to 1999).
This is because the first discoveries were made much later in the UK, when technology for both exploration and production were more advanced.
Growing supplies of British oil didn't last long, though. Britain is now a net oil importer just like the US.
Peak gas 2015 to 2040 (natural gas) , with production falling over a cliff beyond that.
Nor is there any comfort to be derived from gas. Gasfields deplete very differently from oilfields, gas being much more mobile than oil. It is normal for a gasfield to yield 70-80 per cent of its gas over its production lifetime, whereas an oilfield will typically yield only 35-40 per cent of its oil. Drillers normally set gas production far below the natural production capacity so as to give a long production plateau. But the danger in this is that the end of the production plateau comes abruptly, and without market signals.
Colin Campbell, a prominent early topper, estimates that the original global endowment of conventional gas was around 10,000 trillion cubic feet (equivalent to 1.8 trillion barrels of oil), of which about a quarter has been produced to date. He expects a global plateau in production of around 130 trillion cubic feet per year during the period 2015 to 2040, with production falling over a cliff beyond that.
back to oil:
are we simply failing to pay sufficient attention to alarm signals such as last month's little-noticed announcement by the US government's Energy Information Administration, in which forecasts of Opec production between now and 2025 were slashed by 11 million barrels a day?

Treasury Secretary, John Snow-"U.S. Government is on the verge of collapse."

http://lonepatriot.com/archives/daily_post/index.html#000146
Predicting the coming financial crisis really involves no
brains at all, it is imminent and unavoidable. The only
question to ask, is when will the puppet masters pull the
strings. If U.S. Treasury Secretary, John Snow's recent
statement indicating that "the U.S. Government is on the verge
of collapse" isn't a wake-up call, I'm not sure what is.

Here is a suggested possibility of a proper response to retain your
rights to not be searched and seized by the USA corporation or local
agent offering to "protect" you.
Option of a possible response based upon my and others' understanding
and reading of court findings revolving around exactly at what point
you give up your Constitutional non-search & seizure rights:
In the real world, asserting your rights politely usually only works if
your rights are respected by a higher-up who knows the legal score, and
you answer no question ever. Not in detention, not in jail, ever. At
some point someone somewhere in the chain knows this truthful
information - while the practical full loss of all rights in an
executive dictatorship for our own good is not in effect.
"How are you today, sir?" This is a trained ploy to elicit 'proper'
response without the officer even knowing why. He is not told the whole
truth and is simply told to start the investigation by asking...so as
to "be friendly."
Any answer or giving up of documents at any point makes you
"participating in an investigation" - unless you answer ONLY in the
form of a QUESTION.
Example: smile, and politely ask "Who is asking and why?"
This immediately determines the encounter status and
whether the person is acting in their private or public capacity.
If you ANSWER, you have automatically given up all rights. Once given
up, they cannot be restored. Because "Once you testify in part you must
testify in whole."
If taken against your will, you can come back later and win.
Be friendly, be polite.
"I respectfully do not consent to this encounter. If I had and gave you
such documents can they be used against me in a court of law?
Would you please inform your supervisor what I just said? Am I free to go?"
(Immediately determines your status.)
Theoretically, this applies not just to airports, but roadblocks,
traffic stops, street encounters = they are all the same.
Here are the most current pictures on American prison camps I've
seen yet, with what will seem like a valid reason for filling them up.

I get jobs repairing computers for DHS here locally so get to see firsthand what they are all about when I go over the crap on their hard drives. Their primary goal is to spend ungodly amounts of federal money on seminars designed to scare the living shit out as many govt employees as they can cajole into attending them and on stockpiling totally inappropriate emergency hardware and equipment for imagined terrorist threats which are Looney Tunes from the standpoint of any likelihood they will ever occur. I'm convinced the sole purpose and design of the program is to turn the masses of sheeple into ever fearful and compliant proles willing to accept any amount of authoritarian abuse in exchange for `security'.

Bush could seize absolute control of U.S. government
President George W. Bush has signed executive orders giving him sole
authority to impose martial law, suspend habeas corpus and ignore the

The Bush Regime is conducting another "drill" soon, this one to simulate a nuclear bomb. Given the NORAD drills that "went live" during 911, and the London security drills that "went live" in London's 7/7, we must assume the worst from the pending nuclear exercise described in the article:
http://www.wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=48454
Houston-area patriots and police broke up a Bush attempt to use a similar exercise as a cover for an operation to sabotage the British Petroleum, Texas City, Texas Refinery on 7/28/2005. Examine the bibliography my unit and I have prepared to examine this all-important interdiction more closely:
http://www.spiritone.com/~pazuu/pow-mia/GhostTroopCaptMayBibliography.htm
At that bibliography you'll find both articles from the period and historic international interviews describing heroic actions by Houston-area and national infowarriors to break up another 911. The Bush tyranny still needs that next 911, and therefore we must all be vigilant. Check out the links and pass the word: Only public awareness can protect the public!

Seven:

(2) one to attack and question the patriotism of anyone

(3) one to blame the previous administration

(4) one to arrange the invasion of a country rumored

(6) one to arrange a photo-op session

450 Golden Gate (between Polk and Larkin)
After a bit of a break, a federal grand jury in San Francisco is again
demanding the appearance of several animal rights activists on Wednesday,
January 25th.
These local activists face jail time simply for exercising their
Constitutional right to remain silent before this secret government
inquisition.
Please spread the word and attend a demonstration in protest of government
oppression and in support for these activists' resistance to government
harassment. A strong showing of our opposition to FBI witch hunts is
crucial to the survival of the activist community.

# IMPORTANT HEARING on Public Financing legislation -- Wed, Jan. 25, San Francisco
From: Steven Hill Dear Friends,
Voter Owned Elections/public financing of the mayor’s race in San Francisco
is rounding third base and heading for home. After receiving a unanimous 5-0
vote at the San Francisco Ethics Commission, THIS Wednesday we have our
first hearing at the Board of Supervisors. Now is the time to pour on the
support!
Our legislation has been endorsed by nearly 60 organizations plus numerous
elected officials. You can help San Francisco join the national movement to
breath new life into our democracy. Please attend this important hearing,
here are the details:
When: Wednesday, January 25th @ 1:30 PM
Where: Room 263 of City Hall (McAllister & Polk), San Francisco
On December 19th, over 100 people filled the chambers of the Ethics
Commission, it was standing room only. Grassroots power helped make this
critical reform one-step closer to reality. In order to ensure that this
legislation for public financing of the mayor's race is passed into law, we
need to come together once again. Let's fill the hearing room of the Budget
and Finance Committee!
If you can't make the hearing, please take the time to contact the Board of
Supervisors to let them know this reform is important to you. If you go to
the website below, you will find sample letters and a link that will allow
you to send personalized letters to whichever members of the Board of
Supervisors you want:

on Wednesday! Yours, Steven Hill

# Weds. January 25, 6 - 8pm COMCAST - MARIN Cable Franchise
CONTRACT HEARING (Location pending)
NEXT MTA MEETING: After six years of negotiations, the MTA will discuss the proposed ten-year cable franchise agreement with Comcast at their next meeting. The MTA must insist on some key provisions in this agreement, before allowing Comcast to continue using our streets for its cables.
Please Come and Support Community Media Tell the MTA that you support the creation of a non-profit, independent community media center, and that any new franchise agreement must include the following:
• Designated Access Provider (DAP): This lets the people of Marin run their own Community Media Center and their Public, Education And Government (PEG) channels.
• Capital Expense: The new community media center must be adequately funded for new and upgraded equipment and facilities over the life of the agreement.
• Operational Expense: A media center must have enough income to keep running. This can be provided by a viewer choice fee (less than $1 a month) on cable bills.
• FM Service on the cable must be guaranteed. In many parts of Marin cable is the only way people can hear FM.

9/11- TRUTH. STOLEN ELECTIONS & BEYOND
What's going on in our country
and what can we do about it?
A three part multimedia series presented by Ken Jenkins
Three Wednesday: January 25, February 1, February 8th
Harmony Community Room
400G Morris St.
Sebastopol
(across from Coaches Corner Health Club)
Part One - January 25th, 7 - 10 pm.
9/11 101 - Using the newly developed "11 REMARKABLE FACTS ABOUT 9/11"
card as a starting point, this PowerPoint and video presentation will
cover the most solid evidence disproving the official story of 9/11.
Video will include the latest from author David Ray Griffin (The New
Pearl Harbor). The talk will conclude with suggestions of empowering
actions to take. There will be time for questions and discussion. SEE
11 REMARKABLE FACTS BELOW!
Part Two - February 1st, 7 - 10 pm
Overcoming Barriers to 9/11 Truth - Those familiar with the information
presented in part one know that a lack of evidence is not the limiting
factor in spreading 9/11 truth. Many people don't want to believe scary
stuff like that revealed by the reality of such things as stolen
elections and the truth of 9/11. This talk will look at the
psychological resistances to such truths, so we can better overcome
them. This talk will be shorter to allow more discussion time about
examples each of us have of the types of resistance we have encountered
in ourselves and others.
Part Three - February 8th, 7 - 10 pm
9/11 in Context: The Big Picture. Using the 9/11 truth issue as a
touchstone, this discussion will look at the nature of the overall
changes we are going through that include other such unsettling
realities as the stolen elections, lies leading to war in Iraq, and the
response by our government to Katrina. By seeing these in the context
of a global awakening that we are all a part of, we can be more
effective working on the specific issues that have the most leverage to
facilitate this evolutionary process and thus create a better world.
Ken Jenkins has been a 9/11 truth activist for over four years. He was
a speaker at both the San Francisco and Toronto 9/11 Inquiries and has
produced numerous 9/11 DVD's. He is an award winning video and media
producer with an education in engineering, psychology and metaphysics.
He brings a multifaceted and balanced approach to the 9/11
investigation.
Ken is currently producing a series of DVD's of illustrated lectures by
David Ray Griffin, noted author of the books The New Pearl Harbor and
Omission and Distortions in the 9/11 Commission Report.

http://www.eastbayanimaladvocates.org
Tonight's film, "California Egg Industry Documentary," is the world premier of East Bay Animal Advocates' new documentary, an expose of California's inhumane egg industry. Each year over 19 million egg-laying hens are raised in concentrated confinement to produce table eggs for California consumers. According to the California Poultry Workgroup, close to 100 percent of egg-layers are confined to battery cages. For more information, visit http://www.cal-eggs.com.
and
“Wegman's Cruelty” is a half hour documentary produced by a small investigative team from the organization Compassionate Consumers. Organization members contacted Wegmans Food Markets to try to hold some meaningful dialogue about the conditions at Wegmans Egg Farm, and were then misled and dismissed by Wegmans' representatives. The team set out to capture actual footage inside the farm and create a film based on their experience. For more information, visit http://www.wegmanscruelty.com
Before and after the film, everyone's invited to indulge in our Humanist Coffee House.
The films are FREE but $5 donations are accepted.

Wed, Jan 25, 2006 7:30 pm

John Perkins Discusses “Confessions of an Economic Hit Man” With Kevin Danaher & Anuradha Mittal
JOHN PERKINS, a current New York Times and San Francisco Chronicle bestselling author who was covertly recruited by the U.S. National Security Agency to be an economic hit man, writes that they are “highly paid professionals who cheat countries around the globe out of trillions of dollars. Their tools include fraudulent financial reports, rigged elections, payoffs, extortion, sex, and murder.” Perkins did this work for a decade, until 9/11/2001 convinced him to fully expose the corporate and government activities often thought of as “globalization.”
ANURADHA MITTAL, formerly co-director of Food First, is the founder & director of The Oakland Institute as well as the author of: “America Needs Human Rights: Fighting Hunger and Poverty in the Richest Nation on Earth” and, with Kevin Danaher, “10 Reasons to Abolish the World Bank and the IMF.”
KEVIN DANAHER, co-founder of Global Exchange and their Director of Public Education, has produced as author or editor eleven books, including “Democratizing the Global Economy: The Battle Against the World Bank and the IMF” and “Insurrection: Citizen Challenges to Corporate Power (with Jason Mark).

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that
we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that
most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous,
talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of
God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There's nothing
enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure
around you. You were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within
you. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own
light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we're liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically
liberates others. ---marianne williamson

# At the Center for Sex & Culture, 398 11th St. at Harrison.
Saturday afternoon, 1/28, Tracy Bartlett does her workshop The Menopause Transformation: An Internal Earthquake [1 cracker]
at the Center for Sex & Culture, 398 11th St. at Harrison. 1--5 pm, $30 per person. Pre-register at (415) 255-1155 or mail [at] sexandculture.org.
Menopause is one of the most life-altering transitions we go through in the course of a human lifetime. This culture's tendency to focus
solely on the physical aspects of menopause misses the stunningly powerful and often disorienting changes we are undergoing in all
facets of our lives. As just one example: we are relearning not only changes in how our body responds sexually but our whole relationship
with sexuality as well. With so much profound restructuring all happening at once we can certainly feel lost on rough vast seas. But we are not alone -- by the year 2010 there will be 50 million women experiencing some phase of menopause. That much upheaval will shake up the whole culture, and just in time.
Come join us to explore letting go, allowing change and choosing the inevitable. This workshop will include presentation, small group
discussion and guided exercises designed to provide the tools for mapping and navigating this shifting terrain.
Tracy's classes are popular and informative, fun and lively. She's taught experientially for 20 years, including sex classes for 10, and
she has a master's in counseling plus a degree in women's studies.

We would like to invite you to participate in two fabulous fundraisers for Loveparade San Francisco 2006
http://www.loveparadesf.org and the SomArts Cultural Center (http://www.somarts.org). Both events willbe held
at SomArts, 934 Brannan Street in San Francisco.
On Friday, January 27th, Skills DJ Workshop has brought together 20
different production companies and 50 DJs for "GIVING BACK THE LOVE". This
should be a rocking party showcasing the exuberance and idealism of the
younger side of the bay area electronic dance scene. The flyer and lineup
can be seen at
http://www.skillsdj.com
The 2005 Loveparade was a great success with well over 50,000 people
spreading the love along Market Street and at Civic Center. The costs of
the city fees and personel required for a downtown parade were huge however,
so many groups are coming together to pay the remaining debts so that
planning for the Loveparade San Francisco 2006 can proceed full steam ahead!
For all those many people who forgot to give the $5 donation at the
Loveparade gates, here is your chance to help make sure that Loveparade
stays a yearly event in San Francisco, a city with an international
reputation for Love in the streets.
The SomArts Cultural Gallery is a non-profit art gallery and event space
that hosted many seminal electronic dance and art parties until those were
prohibited in 1996 because of permitting problems. Because of the
importance of Somarts to the community, the SFLNC pushed the City to allow
entertainment at SomArts and full time late night permits were granted in
2003. Recently, Somarts completed a major building project to allow high
occupancy for events, so the community is now coming together to help pay
off some of SomArts construction loans! After almost ten years, Somarts
will now be fully available to the community for special events!
All equipment, talent and labor for these events is being donated by the
community and all proceeds will be split evenly between Somarts and
Loveparade San Francisco!
While the DJ lineups are pretty much set for these events, we're still
looking for volunteers for security, bartending, and setup and cleanup.
There is also room for some art, visuals and performance.

peak oil 2000?

# SUPPORT LOCAL ACTIVISTS' RESISTANCE TO THE OPPRESSIVE GRAND JURY SYSTEM:
When: Wednesday January 25, 9 A.M.
Where: In front of the San Francisco Federal Building

#2 - January 25th : Truth, Stolen Elections, & Beyond - Part I
Meeting, Oakland <> (Grand Lake Neighborhood Center, 7-10pm)

# John Perkins Discusses “Confessions of an Economic Hit Man” With Kevin Danaher & Anuradha Mittal
Wed, Jan 25, 2006 7:30 pm
M. L. King Jr. Middle School Auditorium 1781 Rose St Berkeley
Tickets: $12 advance, $15 door. Benefits KPFA Free Speech Radio and Global Exchange. Available at Black Oak Books, Cody’s Books (both stores), Pegasus Books (both stores), Pendragon, DIESEL, A Bookstore, Global Exchange Store (College Ave.), Walden Pond Bookstore

---marianne williamson

systems. And it has been assured to me that the security will be on the
mellow tip for the evening. Just do not forget your ID, as there will
be nothing we can do about that

will have to tie your feet together and flog you with bass and you will
want to dance so bad, but you can’t because your feet are tied
together. So get there early ;)

# January 22 & 29 Intermediate HoopDance Class in SF with Christabel
http://www.cellspace.org
Due to the flurry of emails asking for an intermediate class, I have decided to set one up! I usually only teach intermediate once every two or three months, so if you are interested now is the time to jump in... Two intensive Sunday seminars from 12-2pm. This INTERMEDIATE LEVEL class provides a total of 4 hours of training. Designed for those who want to master more complex moves, create supple transitions and cultivate the awareness of a performer. All students who enroll must already have mastered all skills from beginner class. First meeting focuses on torso and arms. Second meeting focuses on off body moves including advanced jumps, spins, body rolls, tosses. Thes
