Sign Up to Get Breaking News from Indybay Delivered to Your Phone

Indybay is now offering a Txtmob list for Friday's SF G8 protest and action. When you get on our list, you'll receive short text messages to your cell phone, & you'll receive updates from the street. For example, if you are late to the event, or if you've lost the mass of people, you could get a message letting you know where the action is happening. Read on for detailed instructions...

----------------------------------------

Follow these simple steps to plug in:

1) If you dont already have one, you'll need to register for an account at txtmob.com and login to the website. Registration takes a few seconds, you will get a code sent to your phone and you need to confirm it.

2) Once you are registered, you can sign up for the "Indybay-breaking" list. Click the "Join more groups" link to get a list of available groups. Scroll down the list, and put a check next to the Indybay-breaking list, then scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page and click "submit".

3) You can also use to get on other lists too! Read their FAQ if you have any questions about the service.

Textmob.org is a cell phone messaging technology from
the Institute of Applied Autonomy. It was popularized during the massive noRNC protests in New York City -- against the Republican National Convention in August/September of 2004. Indybay first used this for Reclaim the Streets SF April 2nd, 2005. Check out this quicktime movie if you feel like watching something.
