Anarchist Action Contingent Plans for March 19th
INVITATION TO ALL ANARCHISTS TO MARCH AS A BLOC
Anarchist Action is an ad-hoc contingent of affinity groups from the Bay Area who came together to organize a distinct Anarchist presence within the rally and march on March 19th. The organizers would like to make a few points clear.
- We recognize the success of past breakaway marches but are not planning for a breakaway march or organized direct action on March 19th. The reason for this is to ensure maximum participation and cross pollination among anarchists which will hopefully lead to successfully organized direct actions against the war and outside of mass demonstrations in the future.
- Our emphasis will not only be on the global devastation caused by the US government but also on the local effects felt at home.
Our plans:
**11AM Dolores Park**
Meet up next to tennis courts for an open-mic. All are invited to speak for 3 min. on the war abroad and at home. Join us for breakfast provided by SF Food not Bombs.
**March**
March as an Anarchist contingent with outreach materials (english and spanish) outlining the basic premises of Anarchism to give to bystanders. This will be an effort to discredit the prevailing view that Anarchists are hellbent on causing chaos and destruction. We will have our own autonomous sound system during the march.
**1PM Civic Center**
Creation of assembly to discuss local issues. Come hear organizers talk about the Muni fare hike, the closure of public schools in Oakland and the environmental racism in Bayview/Hunters Point courtesy of PG&E. This assembly will act as an organizing meeting to discuss opportunities of direct action around these issues.
Look for the banners "Anarchist Action" and "Destroy the War Machine" and Black Flags!
SEE YOU ON SATURDAY!
