Democracy irrigated with carnage!

by Khilafah
The so called sunni triangle has proved a thorn in the side of the American occupiers of Iraq, particularly the town of Falluja which they have been repeatedly unable to subdue. After prolonged battles earlier this year, a deal was brokered in which control of Falluja effectively passed to the people of Falluja and their representatives who have reportedly implemented aspects of Shari'ah law.
Iraqi elections are planned for December this year and although Donald Rumsfeld, US defence (sic) secretary, has clearly stated that they will proceed, irrespective of whether there are sections of the population unable to vote, it is obviously desirable for the elections to be as inclusive as possible. Their objective is to fortify the image of the Iraqi government as being a government of the people of Iraq in an attempt to weaken support for rebels and insurgents.

There are "rebel" strongholds, all over Iraq. While those areas of the country under Iraqi interim government control with US security have faced civil unrest, rebellion and insurgency, the so called rebel strongholds have similarly suffered intermittent or sustained attacks from American forces, with many civilian deaths.

Last week the Lancet, a prominent medical magazine in the UK, published a study that asserted the current civilian death toll was at least100 ,000. The study worked with data gathered on the ground by researchers in Iraq and numbers were extrapolated from those found in the study areas. The study areas were in relatively stable parts of Iraq, not turbulent areas such as Falluja or other areas with a strong opposition presence. Thus the authors proposed that their predictive death toll was probably a conservative estimate and the numbers may be much more.

This study is the most detailed analysis of Iraqi civilian deaths that has thus far been published. The Bush administration has notably failed to provide any accurate statistics into "collateral damage". Killing "terrorists" seems to be a moral justification for any of the slaughter they have thus far unleashed on innocent men, women and children living peacefully in their homes.

British troops have recently been relocated from their previous positions in Southern Iraq to the more dangerous areas close to Baghdad. This is reportedly to free US troops that they may mount an all out offensive on Falluja.

The leaders of places like Falluja take their positions at great personal risk. The US is determined to destroy them and they are poorly equipped to defend themselves. It is illogical to propose they are dominating over their locality against the will of the people living there. If the people were discontent and sought to remove these leaders, they would find a powerful ally who would support them in secret and overtly with all that they could need. The obvious stability of these places, necessary to mount a credible defence against such a ferocious onslaught comparable to that which has and will be encountered, points to the conclusion that Falluja is a town which does not want to be occupied and prefers its current state to that which the US seeks to impose.

The movement of British troops and recent escalations undertaken by the Americans points to the fact that the Americans wish to crush militarily all remaining resistance in Iraq prior to the December elections if possible and this cannot be achieved while places like Falluja prove that independence can be won from the Americans on the battlefield. Thus, with the escalation that will be seen, there will also be an increase in civilian deaths, as well as military casualties.

So the Americans, with the backing of Iyad Allawi, an Iraqi Prime Minister who has sanctioned the murder of thousands of his own civilians within 4 months of his appointment by a foreign power, continue their rampage towards "elections."

The elections, if they take place, will have been watered with the blood of greater than100 , 000innocent civilians. These were not people who gave their lives that elections might take place. These are people who will have been murdered so that elections might take place. The Americans, not yet embarrassed by the carnage they have delivered so far, are in the process of pressing home their advantage, crushing their opposition and enforcing a farcical election.

How many will they have to kill to impose their system upon the people?…150 ,000,200 ,000, maybe more. How can they have the nerve to allege that it is the militaristic Islamist groups who seek to implement their ideas by force? They have never even come close to such slaughter - particularly in a single country over a short period of time.

If it comes about, this will be a democracy planted on the murder of the fathers and mothers of Iraq. It will be a democracy nurtured with deceit and slaughter. Perhaps the West can accept spreading their ideas and systems through such evil means. Islam cannot accept it. When the Khilafah is established in the land of the Muslims insha Allah, may it be established through the belief, sincerity and conviction of the masses and the honesty of the influential. When Islam spreads around the world may Muslims never become guilty of oppression, coercion and murder as the Americans are now guilty of. May Islam show those barbarians who refuse to acknowledge their butchery, the meaning of justice, that they may realise and accept it. Ameen.
