# 9/15: Come Grow with Us at the Redwood Creek Native Plant Nursery!
*Enthusiastic volunteers are needed to help with nursery work Wednesday, September 15th in the BEAUTIFUL SETTING of Muir Woods National Monument.
*No nursery experience is necessary; all ages, skills, and talents are welcome!
Do you want to learn about growing plants and about our local ecology?
The Redwood Creek Native Plant Nursery is a non-profit nursery that grows native plants and performs restoration activities for habitat restoration within the Redwood Creek watershed (which includes the Muir Woods National Monument).
Please join us for hands-on botany, horticulture, and restoration in the nation's premier urban national park.
In addition to Wednesday, September 15th we host Drop-in Volunteer Programs: Every Wednesday and Saturday 10AM to 1PM
Volunteers participate in every aspect of nursery operation, from seed collection to outplanting. Regular activities include transplanting, sowing seeds, weeding, and watering.
Activities take place both at the nursery and in the field at the restoration or seed-collection areas throughout the park. On September 15th we will be performing plant maintenance at the nursery.

Nick Wright recently returned from the Tenth International Conference on War Tax Resistance and Peace Tax Campaigns in Brussels, Belgium. He will tell us about his participation in that gathering as well as the protests against the Republican Convention in NYC.
Lorin Peters, a war tax resister since the Vietnam War, spent the summer with the Christian Peacemaker Team in Hebron. He looks forward to “sharing some images, and discussion, of the occupation of Palestine, nonviolent approaches to change, and signs of hope."

Likewise the general public will also be made aware with banners, posters, leafletting, Plasma screen “Body TV”, showing cruelty footage, bullhorn, props including a life-size veal crate.
