Detainees in Israel statement of support for hunger strikers
Jamie Spector and 2 others currently detained by the Israeli authorities have made this statement in support of the hunger strike in A-Ram against the new wall.
Dear Hunger Strikers:
We write to you from the Ben Gurion Detention Center. We have been denied entry into the the State of Israel and we are fighting deportation. We have been labeled a “security threat” because we came to participate in non-violent demonstrations against the Israeli Apartheid Wall which has been declared illegal by the International Court of Justice. We are aware of your hunger strike in A-Ram and would like to send a message of solidarity and support. Even though we are in detention, we will continue to protest against the wall and bring attention to the important work you are doing.
In Solidarity,
Jamie Spector, USA
Ann Robinson Petter, USA
Christine Grefer, Netherlands
