Freedom at the Free State
celebrate freedom at the Free State
[please forward]
Saturday, June 5th, 4:00pm
Opening of the "Free" Free State
a temporary autonomous zone established in protest against anti-poor policies of the city of San Francisco.
Join the State Free Collective in establishing a temporary autonomous zone in Golden Gate Park. Meet at the Haight/Stanyan park entrance.
This action is being planned as a civil disobedience to challenge the unfair practice of charging homeless people with camping and sleeping in the park. Be prepared to sleep in the park and establish a temporary autonomous zone (TAZ) community space which will run throughout the duration of the Reclaim the Commons mobilization. The "Free" Free State is named in honor of earth liberation prisoner Jeff "Free" Luers, http://www.freefreenow.org. It is part of the
International Day of Action to highlight his case and it's appeal.
We encourage people to bring festive props, boom boxes, video projection gear, anything you deem desirable.
Fight Poverty with a celebration of Freedom
Reclaim the Commons!
Note: if you arrive late look for people around the hippy hill area, just inside the park at Haight/Stanyan. Or try calling 415-867-6362 for location details.
