# Dear Road Scholars,   Social Frontiersmen/women,
and sun worshipping earth defenders,
This Week Continues the CHRYSALIS ENLIGHTENMENT SERIES with
Brion Livingston's LUCID ACTING: The building of the bridge between
dreams and waking conscioussness, to build the singularity of the Lucid mind
WHO:Brian, an actor/director/playwright earned his BA in theater at
SF State University. He has directed, acted and taught theater
here in the Bay Area for the last five years. He is member of MFC and
our greater family of cultural creatives.
WHAT:In this class Brian will share his visions of theatrical possiblity.
The foundations of his brand of theater are rooted in Method acting,
Viewpoints Training inspired by Anne Bogart collaborative ensemble
investigations of material. The exercises he has to share are geared
towards a deep integration of body/mind/spirit allowing the performer
to work quickly and precisely in rehearsal and performance. Our focus
will be on how to develop material for performance. Be assured this
class should not be missed. We will be nurturing our ability to build
compositions
together, taking responsibility for dynamic and inventive moments in
performance and creating a common vocabulary from which to explore and
generate new material.
Please feel welcome even if you have no experience in theatre, this is
a great introduction. 672 S.Van Ness @ 16th in the lower Mission

The Art of Resistance Political Artists' Conference
The 2004 conference is the first annual gathering of political artists
from around the country and the world. The conference will consist of two
days of workshops, speakers and events exploring political art.
Conference participants will receive hands-on skills and practical
knowledge, a broader understanding of the history and current state of
political art and benefit from the rare opportunity of being able to spend
a weekend in a building full of political artists from across the country.
We hope to strengthen the movement of artists for global justice by
linking together communities of artists whether geographically bound or
connected by specific issue.
