Call for Bikes Not Bombs to Ride on West Oakland

by a real oakland (bike)rider
Don't let the Oakland Riders and the Oakland Police Stop us from demonstrating peacefully in our community, and help us send them a message that we won't stand for their continued excuses for their brutality against our communities. Let's ride on Oakland...
Bikes Not Bombs Contingent to Gather at 4pm at OPD hq
Ride to West Oakland BART to meet with marchers at 5pm
Then Ride on the Oakland Port and SSA (music provided)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We are calling for a Bikes Not Bombs contingent to assemble at the Oakland Police headquarters rally, so that we can ride together on West Oakland. We believe that a group of Oakland (bike)riders making the connection between police brutality in our communities, and war profiteering abroad, can make a very powerful statement. So put on your thinking caps, get together some creative flags and signs for your bikes, and join us as we ride from Oakland Police Headquarters to the West Oakland BART at 5pm. From their we will go out to the Oakland Port to shutdown SSA and stand up to their union-busting efforts in Iraq, and privatization efforts in Bangladesh.

On April 7th PUEBLO and Direct Action to Stop the War, along with various community allies in the fight against police brutality, will be holding a rally at Oakland Police Headquarters starting at 4pm.
(455 7th St at Broadway - down the street from 12th St BART)

The rally will be really short and will just be a good chance to remind the Oakland Police, and the politicians responsible for them, that the people of Oakland will not stand for their continued abuses in our communities. We will be joining together to call for an end to police brutality and the beginning of some police accountability to our various communities in Oakland, not just the business community and politicians trying to gentrify Oakland.
