Moderator: Kame M.. Samburu, (formerly Paul . Boutelle), Civil Rights leader from Harlem, Vice Presidential, Congressional and Mayoral (New York and Oakland) candidate.
Tammy Johnson, Director of the Expose Racism and Advance School Excellence (ERASE) Initiative, will speak on the racial impacts of “No Child Left Behind Act”.
Emily Hobson, Research Associate of Californians for Justice, will discuss their five-year statewide campaign for racial justice and quality education in California’s schools, including their work to stop the High School Exit Exam.
Sheila Quintana, President of the Oakland Education Association (OEA), will address problems facing teachers, students and our schools in Oakland and actions OEA is taking to create more equitable schools.
Mark Sanchez, Director on the San Francisco School Board, will talk about Teachers for Social Justice’s campaign to challenge high stakes testing and the California High School Exit Exam.
