Agent Orange is now #1 Crow-eater
Less than 1 month after POTUS 47 declared "Liberation Day" and boasted that he will--via his tariffs-on-steroids!--win a trade war with China, he has just admitted that the tariffs(up to 245%!) are "too high." Duh, it doesn't take an Einstein to know that all parties lose in a trade war. Especially with Donald's gang of clueless economic gurus, they quickly learned that America is much more dependent on China than the other way around.
Two recent reports tell the real story(as opposed to the Fantasyland tales from the White House swamp of snake-oil salesmen like "convict" Peter Navarro!):
A) Strike One--America's soybean farmers are getting clobbered by Trump's absurd tariff war on China. Last year, US soybean exports to China made up 9%--in dollar value--of the year's total. It's now almost certainty that China will diversify its soybean imports from Brazil and elsewhere. So how's Donald the "deal maker" going to find tens of billions of $$ to bail out US soybean farmers?
B) Strike Two--A second boomerang just occurred last Friday in Seattle. Apparently, a Boeing 737 Max jetliner was "Returned to Sender" by Beijing. A single 737 Max cost at least $110 million. But that's a drop in the bucket, because the entire future of commercial jet sales globally was just given away to rival Airbus and the up-and-coming Comac 900-series planes built in China. We're talking hundreds of Billions $$$.
That's why Agent Orange this afternoon had to admit that we have to "de-escalate..." I guess even though his hyperbolic "Liberation Day" for America was announced on April 2. the "You're Fired" White House Occupier was actually announcing, "April Fool" to all the working people in the USA?
