For Mothers Day, come celebrate with CAAMFest at SFMOMA with two films that explore multigenerational stories while spotlighting the work of Female Filmmakers.
When a filmmaker on a mission to excavate an untold story of rebellious teens in the electrifying world of 80s Viet New Wave music in Orange County unexpectedly confronts buried traumas, join us for our screening of Elizabeth Ai “New Wave”.
Or take your mother to “What about China”, Trinh T. Minh-ha explores China through multiple perspectives in this documentary, blending 1990s film footage with poetry and folk traditions from various rural Chinese provinces. Focusing on women's voices and communal spaces, while offering a journey into the wealth of China’s traditional architecture, she examines the process of "harmonizing" rural China.
