The Unitarian Universalist EcoSocialist Network is hosting Susanna Barkataki for a workshop on Yoga and collective liberation. Join us!
Yoga isn’t just a practice, it’s a path to leadership, liberation, and impact.
Rooted in the wisdom of the Yoga Sutras, and the Vedas, and Ignite Your Yoga, this transformative 3-hour experience will explore yoga’s deeper roots and its power to inspire your courageous leadership, social change, and collective healing.
What You’ll Experience:
✨A Shanti Shakti practice balancing peace (Shanti) and power (Shakti) through movement, breath, and ritual.
✨A deep dive into yoga ethics (Ahimsa, Satya, Asteya & beyond) and their relevance today.
✨ Practical tools of meditation, pranayama, and mindful movement to sustain your activism and teaching.
✨ A guided Shanti Shakti Ritual integrating mantra, mudra, asana, and breathwork to awaken clarity, confidence, and impact.
✨A discussion and practice of the F.I.R.E. Framework from Ignite Your Yoga - a powerful model for embodied leadership and real-world change:
🔥 F – Foundation: Self-care & resilience to sustain activism and teaching.
🔥 I – Integrity: Aligning your leadership with yogic values and justice.
🔥 R – Relationships: Building trust, community, and collective power.
🔥 E – Embodiment: Turning knowledge into inspired action and service.
In a world that often pushes either passivity or burnout, yoga teaches us to hold both peace and power, stillness and action.
This workshop will help you:
Break free from self-doubt and inaction and move into your voice and leadership. Feel both grounded and energized - so you can sustain your work for the long haul. Move beyond overwhelm into grounded action in true embodied, justice-centered leadership. Connect with a community of changemakers, who believe in yoga’s power to heal and transform.
You’ll leave feeling rooted, activated, and empowered, with a toolkit of yoga and energy practices to sustain your leadership, activism, and personal growth.
