2025 MLK PEOPLE'S MARCH FOR THE DREAM Santa Cruz

"Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere." -- Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Where: March starts at intersection of Pacific Ave and Cathcart Street, Santa Cruz, CA

When: January 20 @ 10 AM
MLK Jr. weekend & day of protest action on Presidential inauguration day

Website: https://www.naacpsantacruz.com/

The January 20 date holds dual significance as both the federal holiday honoring
Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and a moment to reflect on the importance of safeguarding and advancing civil rights.

Inspired by Dr. King’s tireless work, including his role in the passage of the Immigration Act of 1965, which brought critical racial justice reforms to U.S. immigration law, this day serves as a powerful reminder of the enduring need for unity and collective action.

Guided by Dr. King's legacy, we come together to celebrate equality, justice, and the ongoing journey toward a more inclusive and equitable society.

The March and commemorative program will celebrate Dr. King’s message of equality, justice, and non-violence. The NAACP Santa Cruz County Branch is committed to fostering mutual respect and peaceful collaboration in all its activities and events and invites all participants to join us in upholding these shared values.

We invite all organizations and people to come together in solidarity with the dream of Dr. King to march with us and support us.

This Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend march is part of the PEOPLE'S MARCH nationwide weekend of action before & day of the Presidential inauguration to demand democracy, freedom, justice and compassion for all people everywhere: https://www.peoplesmarch.com/
